Biography
Dr. Villadsen specializes in regulatory finance and accounting. Her areas of concentration include cost of capital, cost-of-service rate making, accounting disclosure, accounting principles, and their application.
She has testified on cost of capital and has significant experience in both the U.S. and Canada. Her recent cost of capital work includes U.S. state and federal courts as well as Canadian federal and provincial regulatory bodies in the electric, pipeline, and water industries. She has also consulted on capital budgeting for international corporations.
Dr. Villadsen has testified in U.S. and international arbitrations matters on accounting issues and damages. She has experience in accounting principles and financial disclosure. Her recent experiences include accounting issues related to disclosure, the classification of hybrid financial instruments, impairment of assets, and mark-to-market issues.
