Dr. Tabakovic is an expert in technology-related matters spanning intellectual property, antitrust and competition, public policy, regulatory economics, and other complex business disputes.

Along with his expertise in technology-related matters, Dr. Tabakovic specializes in applying economic and financial analysis, data science, and survey design and analysis to complex business disputes and policy matters across various industries, from internet and IT to pharmaceuticals to manufacturing and automotive.

Dr. Tabakovic has extensive experience with high-profile matters involving multi-sided platforms related to video games, app distribution, music streaming, ride-sharing, and autonomous vehicles. He has supported clients in a number of copyright, patent, and trademark disputes, including music copyright holders in royalty-setting proceedings in front of the US Copyright Royalty Board (CRB), as well as various technology companies in Section 337 investigations at the United States International Trade Commission (ITC). He also successfully supported the federal government in a high-profile public health investigation involving Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emissions requirements.

A former Systems Engineer with Lockheed Martin Corporation, he received his doctorate in Strategy from Harvard Business School, where his academic research focused on empirical issues in patent litigation, standard-setting, and returns to R&D – areas in which he continues to actively publish and conduct research.

Personal Interests

Haris spends most of his time outside of the office honing his carpentry skills and coaching and playing soccer. He enjoys being in the classroom and, whenever possible, gets involved in teaching economics to undergraduate students at Harvard.

To keep pace with the evolving technology and business environment, Haris has been active in the Boston-area start-up community and has been involved with a number of start-ups as an advisor and/or angel investor.
