Dr. Tabakovic is an associate at The Brattle Group with experience in intellectual property and transfer pricing issues. He received his doctorate in Strategy from Harvard Business School, where he his academic research focused on empirical issues in patent litigation, standard-setting and returns to R&D. Prior to graduate school, Dr. Tabakovic worked as a systems engineer with Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Brattle Associate Haris Tabakovic has co-authored a paper with Thomas G. Wollmann, an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, discussing the conflict of interest and potential for regulatory capture that arises when employees in the public sector are later employed by the private firms they used to monitor and regulate.

A Brattle team recently assisted counsel for SoundExchange in a proceeding before the Copyright Royalty Board to determine the license fee that SiriusXM Satellite Radio will pay for the right to broadcast sound recordings from 2018 through 2022.

Study by Haris Tabakovic on the Transfer of People Between Industry and Government Cited by Chicago Booth Review

The Chicago Booth Review, a publication by the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, recently cited a working paper co-authored by Brattle Associate Haris Tabakovic and Chicago Booth Professor Thomas Wollmann in an article addressing the transfer of people between government and industry positions, and new revelations in data indicating the potentially harmful effects of this “revolving door” of employment.
