Ahmad Faruqui to Present on the Future of Demand Response at The Smart Grid Observer’s Demand Response Virtual Summit

Brattle principal Ahmad Faruqui will present at the upcoming Demand Response Virtual Summit to be held online by The Smart Grid Observer on February 19, 2015.

The fourth annual Summit will bring together key thought leaders and practitioners to examine the current opportunities and challenges associated with achieving DR’s full potential. The event will cover topics on how the advances in automatic demand response (ADR) combined with developing capabilities of the smart grid and the drive by customers to cut energy costs are creating new opportunities for ADR applications.

Dr. Faruqui will present on the “Five Forces that will Shape the Future of Demand Response,” including the trend in electricity load growth, the possibility for widespread dynamic pricing adoption, the fate of FERC Order 745, price-based DR vs. curtailment based DR, and the potential of "fast" DR to integrate renewables.
