Brattle Consultants to Participate at Infocast’s US-China Wind Conference in San Francisco

Brattle consultants Judy Chang and Bin Zhou will participate in Infocast’s “US-China Wind 2011” conference taking place December 13-15, 2011 in San Francisco, CA. The conference will bring together experts, industry executives, and vendors from U.S. and Chinese wind communities to discuss financing and favorable pricing strategies, U.S. investment in Chinese equipment manufacturers, and Chinese investment in and/or partnership opportunities with new U.S.-based wind farms. Ms. Chang will participate in a panel session on the “Regulatory Backdrops for Chinese Participation in the U.S. Market.” The panel will discuss the successful development of wind projects in the United States utilizing Chinese capital and/or equipment and how they will require navigating the complex patchwork of federal, state, and other energy regulatory frameworks. Dr. Zhou will present on the “U.S. Tax Implications for Wind Power Businesses.” He will discuss how understanding the U.S. tax system, wind-farm-specific tax incentives, and ways to take advantage of U.S. tax policies will enable Chinese wind turbine manufactures to better structure leasing and financing arrangements.
