Brattle principal Ahmad Faruqui, a leading expert on the smart grid, will be participating at the 2011 Smart Home Energy Management Summit, taking place November 8-9th in San Jose, California. The conference, organized by Smart Grid Update, brings together experts and industry leaders in smart grid technology to discuss the benefits of home energy management systems for both utility companies and consumers, as well as why this technology is an essential part of consumer engagement and the overall success of the smart grid. Dr. Faruqui will serve as a panelist for a session on “The growth of dynamic and critical peak pricing.” The panel will explain the rationale for interaction between the wholesale and retail energy markets, determine which type of pricing system would be most effective, and discuss how much consumers are willing to invest to save money on their energy bill.
