Brattle Principal Ahmad Faruqui to Present Findings of New Institute for Electric Efficiency Study on the Benefits of Smart Meters

Ahmad Faruqui, a principal in Brattle’s San Francisco office, and Lisa Wood, executive director of the Institute for Electric Efficiency (IEE), will present the findings of their new study on the benefits of smart meters during a breakfast session held in conjunction with the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Winter Committee Meetings in Washington, DC. The session will take place on February 16, 2011 and will include attendees from regulatory commissions, government agencies, and utilities. The study, co-authored by Dr. Faruqui and Lisa Wood, goes beyond the operational savings associated with smart meters to assess the benefits of customer-specific smart meter enabled program offerings, including dynamic pricing with and without technology options, direct load control with measurement and verification, and electric vehicles.
