Brattle Principal Bob Mudge Presents at EUCI Conference on M&A Transactions in the Renewable Energy Sector

Brattle principal Bob Mudge recently spoke at the EUCI conference, “Renewable Energy M&A Transactions – A Practitioner’s Guide,” which took place December 5-6 in San Diego, CA. The conference addressed the key issues surrounding planning and positioning a renewable or energy efficiency business for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other types of consolidations. Participants, which included financial, operational, and legal experts, discussed common and alternative financial and transaction structures as well as best practices for buyers and sellers when conducting due diligence and negotiations. Mr. Mudge, an expert in corporate and project finance matters in the energy industry, led a discussion on, “Will Master Limited Partnerships (MLP) and Other Alternative Structures Make Their Way into Renewable M&A?” His presentation highlighted examples used by oil and gas interests, tax advantages of MLPs compared to traditional structures, as well as considerations made by existing renewable interests, including wind and solar.
