Brattle Principal Francesco Lo Passo to Speak at Anea Seminar on Water Services in Italy

Brattle principal Francesco Lo Passo has been invited to speak at the Infrastructures in Italy conference, hosted by Bocconi University and Ernst & Young Business School and taking place December 17, 2012 in Rome, Italy. The conference will address the multi-billion investments in infrastructures foreseen for the next several years in Italy by the major Italian airports, the gas sector, railways and logistic operators, and the need of a long-term stable regulatory framework allowing a proper remuneration on capital. It will provide an outlook on the available sources of financing and on the role of Project Bonds in Italy. The conference will also examine the planned expansion of Fiumicino Airport in Rome and of the Milan airports, and the investments in the gas transportation network of Snam Rete Gas. Dr. Lo Passo will speak at the roundtable on “The Infrastructures in Italy.” Specifically, he will discuss proper remuneration of capital in the context of the investment climate in Italy, and more generally in Europe, as well as the benefits of new regulation on terminal value of regulated infrastructures, and on indemnification in case of specific events outside of control by investors.
