Brattle Principal Jürgen Weiss to Speak at Offshore Renewables World Summit 2012

Brattle principal Jürgen Weiss has been invited to speak at the Offshore Renewables World Summit 2012: Mitigating Risks and Reducing Cost in Offshore Supply Chain for Wind, Wave and Tidal, hosted by Informa and taking place December 10-12, 2012 in London, England. The summit brings together stakeholders, investors, industry experts, and utilities to address key challenges and opportunities for the next phase of wind, wave, and tidal developments from a high level policy, economic, technology, supply chain, and financial perspective. Topics will include: energy policies and market models in the UK, Europe, US, and Asia; electricity market reforms in the UK, Germany, and Canada the impact on electricity prices, generation, and distribution; driving cost out of the supply chain with efficient policies, technologies, and de-risking strategies; how floating wind energy will reduce the cost of offshore wind; mitigating financial and supply chain risk; and strategies for project finance. Dr. Weiss will present “Demonstrating cost effectiveness for offshore wind, what works and what does not?” on the last day of the conference.
