Brattle Principal Mark Berkman to Present at LSI Conference on Energy in the Southwest

Brattle principal Mark Berkman will be presenting at The Ninth Annual Comprehensive Conference on Energy in the Southwest, taking place July 9-10, 2012 in Santa Fe, NM. Hosted by Law Seminars International (LSI), the two-day conference will bring together state commissioners, federal regulators, leading energy lawyers, and other industry experts to discuss recent trends and developments in energy policy facing the Southwest region. The program will explore the challenges impacting each major fuel source in the region’s energy portfolio, the impact of FERC Order 1000, the status of major transmission projects in the region, and pending legal challenges to pertinent environmental regulations. Dr. Berkman will be presenting during the session, “The Future for State Renewable Portfolio Standards: Are they Working? Are There Better Alternatives?” Dr. Berkman’s presentation will focus on the effectiveness in promoting renewable energy development in an era of difficult project financing.
