Brattle Senior Associate Armando Levy to Present at Boston Bar Association CLE Program on Class Certification in Antitrust Cases

Brattle senior associate Armando Levy will be speaking at the upcoming Boston Bar Association (BBA) CLE program, “Class Certification in Antitrust Cases: What Practitioners Must Know about the Increased Role of Economic Analysis,” taking place October 17, 2011 in Boston, MA. Dr. Levy will be joined by Ms. Lisa Wood, a partner at Foley Hoag LLP. Together, they will discuss how economic evidence has recently played an increasing role with class certification in antitrust litigation. In order to satisfy the requirements under Rule 23, which governs the conduct and procedure of class action litigation, economists are now using regression analysis in their testimony. Dr. Levy and Ms. Wood will explain how plaintiffs and defendants use regression analysis in a class certification context, as well as the significant role economic analysis plays in establishing or challenging a plausible claim.
