Brattle Senior Associate Pallavi Seth to Speak on Panel at New York State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting

Brattle senior associate Pallavi Seth will present on a panel at the upcoming New York State Bar Association Annual Meeting of the Intellectual Property Law Section, taking place January 27, 2015 in New York, NY.

In recent years, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has faced new issues beyond the technology patent claims they have traditionally addressed. The fashion industry, digital downloads, trademarks, and trade secrets are all examples of cases that are now brought to the ITC. In this meeting, which will bring together intellectual property experts and practitioners, Dr. Seth will participate on a panel titled “ITC Practice Beyond Patents: Fashion Digital Downloads, Trademarks and Trade Secrets.” Panelists will give a brief landscape of ITC practice and explore new developments in the case law. Dr. Seth will discuss the proper determination of injury in trade secret cases at the ITC as well as types of analysis that can be used in establishing a domestic industry in ITC cases.
