Brattle Senior Consultant Bruce Tsuchida to Chair a Panel at Utility Variable-Generation Integration Group Spring Technical Workshop

Brattle senior consultant Bruce Tsuchida will chair a panel session at the upcoming Utility Variable-Generation Integration Group (UVIG) Spring Technical Workshop, taking place April 2-4, 2013 in Charleston, SC.

The workshop will bring together utilities and other entities with an interest in wind generation to provide an expanded perspective on the status of wind and solar generation in utility systems in the United States and other countries. The workshop will focus on variable generation integration, application, and operation on utility transmission and distribution systems.

Mr. Tsuchida will chair a panel session on “Flexibility Topics.” Presentations on this panel will include discussions of: retrofitting coal plants for increased flexibility; new flexibility and ancillary services from wind turbines; risk reduction potential of flexible generation systems with high VG penetration; and northwest power pool following reserve sharing initiative.
