Eliana Garcés to Present at ACCC/AER Regulatory Conference

Brattle Principal Eliana Garcés will speak at the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission Conference (ACCC) & Australian Energy Regulator (AER) conference to be held July 26-27, 2018 in Brisbane, Australia.

Dr. Garcés will speak on “Regulation of Digital and Intangible Assets.” This panel will discuss regulations for the future of market power—including digital multisided platforms and big data. The panel will also discuss the application of regulatory best practices.

In addition, Dr. Garcés will also be a panelist on “What Implications Do The Interplay of Provider of ‘Last Resort’ Obligations and Changing Technology Have for Best-Practice Regulation?” This panel will debate and discuss the emergence of new technologies and whether these technologies undermine the financial feasibility of regulated firms facing provider of last resort obligations.
