Jürgen Weiss Presents on Germany’s Transition to Renewables at NARUC Annual Meeting

Brattle principal Jürgen Weiss recently served as a panelist at the National Association of Regulatory Commissioners’ (NARUC) Annual Meeting on November 16-19 in San Francisco, CA.

Dr. Weiss participated in the opening panel discussion, “Germany’s Transition to Renewables,” a joint meeting with the staff subcommittee on energy resources and the environment. Panelists discussed Germany’s energy policies in light German’s ambitious efforts to transition away from nuclear energy and towards renewables. The panel concluded that the German people are overwhelmingly in support of getting off nuclear and fossil-fueled power and committing to renewables. This commitment is based on a long-term view of the future and has allowed the government to proceed and continue refining the program.

Dr. Weiss presented during the panel on “Solar Energy Support in Germany: A Closer Look,” which can be viewed by clicking the link below.

Dr. Weiss also recently authored a paper for the Solar Energy Industries Association that examines solar energy support in Germany. It can be accessed here.
