Principal Steve Levine to Present at LSI Conference on Electric Utility Rate Cases

Brattle principal Steve Levine has been selected to present at Law Seminars International’s (LSI) upcoming conference, “Electric Utility Rate Cases,” taking place February 27 – 28, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV.

The current ratemaking environment for regulated gas and electric companies is challenging for regulators, utilities, customer groups, and those who represent them. Environmental requirements, aging infrastructures, new generation and transmission projects, smart grid issues, greenhouse gas emissions, and other challenges ensure a steady stream of new and increasingly complex rate case filings. This conference will bring together regulators, regulated utilities, their customers, and environmental and other public interest advocates dealing with these challenges.

Mr. Levine will present during the conference session, “Update on Domestic Natural Gas Markets in the Context of Global Supply and Demand: Key Factors Impacting Prices.” Mr. Levine will discuss implications of the continued transition from coal to gas for domestic electric generation; Chinese and other foreign demand for US natural gas; prospects for increased exports and the potential impact on domestic prices
