Rich Goldberg and Ioannis Gkatzimas to Present at DataLead 2014 Conference

Brattle principals Rich Goldberg and Ioannis Gkatzimas will be presenting at the upcoming DataLead 2014 Conference, taking place September 30 to October 2, 2014 in Berkeley, CA.

Speakers at the conference will discuss the reality of “big data” as an economic commodity and address the potential to create value with data and apply it to real world business issues and processes, with a particular emphasis on finance and marketing. The conference will cover the wide variety of applications of the field of data science to industries ranging from technology, retail, education, science, and government.

Mr. Gkatzimas will present on “Working with Large Datasets at Financial Institutions” in which he will share practical insights from working with big data generated by financial markets and produced by financial institutions in a litigation setting. He will review the various stages of such projects and the interactions between financial institutions, employees, legal counsel, regulators, and economic consultants. He will also discuss opportunities and challenges to improve the efficiency and reduce the costs of such projects. Dr. Goldberg will co-moderate a panel on “The Definition of Big Data and Applications.”
