Sanem Sergici to Participate in Demand Response Virtual Summit 2014

Brattle Senior Associate Dr. Sanem Sergici will participate in the upcoming digital conference, Demand Response Virtual Summit 2014, held by The Smart Grid Observer on March 20, 2014.

Dr. Sergici will present the results of a recent study examining the impact of a full-scale time-of-use (TOU) roll-out in Ontario, Canada on customer usage profiles, addressing the challenges that come along with its non-experimental design. The study, “Impact Measurement of Tariff Changes When Experimentation is Not an Option: A Case Study of Ontario, Canada,” was authored by Dr. Sergici, Brattle principal Ahmad Faruqui, Brattle Associate Neil Lessem, and Dean Mountain of McMaster University.

The summit will bring together leading practitioners to discuss the current opportunities and challenges associated with achieving the full potential of demand response as an application of the smart grid. Attendees will include professionals from investor-owned, municipal, and co-op utilities who are seeking to understand and achieve the benefits of demand response and energy efficiency programs via the smart grid network.
