Sanem Sergici to Present on Electricity Congestion Costs at NGA’s Maryland Retreat

Brattle senior associate Sanem Sergici will present at the National Governors Association’s (NGA) Maryland Retreat on Reducing Congestion Costs & Reviewing Renewable Portfolio Standards, taking place December 14, 2015 in Annapolis, MD.

The event brings together state policymakers, stakeholders and technical experts to share ideas on reducing electric grid congestion costs and explore trends and opportunities in state renewable energy polices.

Dr. Sergici will present during the panel, “Regulatory and Policy Strategies to Reduce Congestion Costs,” which will discuss an array of technological options for mitigating congestion, as well as the economic considerations for evaluation solutions from the utility and ratepayer perspectives. Panelists will also discuss the complex jurisdictional oversight of congestion costs between state executive, public utility commission, regional transmission organizations, utilities, and the FERC.
