Shaun Ledgerwood to Moderate Market Manipulation Panel at Global Antitrust Economics Conference

Brattle Principal Shaun Ledgerwood will present at the Global Antitrust Economics Conference, taking place October 7, 2016 at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, IL.

Organized by Concurrences Review and the Searle Center on Law, Regulation, and Economic Growth at Northwestern, the event will address topics such as innovation economics and new business models, market manipulation in the financial and energy sectors, and international mergers. Other topics of discussion include penalties for collusion and the benefits of online platforms for consumers. Judge Frank Easterbrook of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Chicago, and Howard Shelanski, administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Office of Management and Budget (OIRA) are the keynote speakers for the event.

Dr. Ledgerwood will moderate the panel, “Market Manipulation in the Financial & Energy Sectors: Can We Prevent the Next Wave of Abuses?” Panelists include Judge Jed Rakoff of the District Court for the Southern District of New York; Patricia Galvan, deputy assistant director at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Mergers III; and Mark Gidley, partner at White & Case.
