William Zarakas to Present on the Regulation of Electric Utilities at Energy Bar Association Annual Meeting

Brattle principal William Zarakas will speak on the regulation of electric utilities at the Energy Bar Association’s (EBA) Annual Conference, taking place May 5-6, 2015 in Washington, DC.

The event will cover a range of legal topics in the energy field, from the opening up of transmission development to new market entrants to an analysis of the differing approaches toward market manipulation oversight being administered by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Mr. Zarakas will participate in the panel “Do We Need a New Way to Regulate Electric Utilities?” He will discuss demands utilities are facing to meet new environmental challenges, such as building a smarter and more resilient grid that can accommodate new technologies. The panel will also discuss how utilities can meet these challenges and how they and their customers will be affected both operationally and financially.
