Brattle Principal Ahmad Faruqui Contributes to Forthcoming Book on Energy Efficiency

Brattle principal Ahmad Faruqui is a contributing author to the forthcoming book Energy Efficiency: Towards the End of Electricity Demand Growth, set to be released in February 2013. Edited by Fereidoon P. Sioshansi, the book features contributions by experts and scholars from around the world exploring the ways and means of transitioning to a more efficient future where consumers’ energy needs can be met using a fraction of the energy currently used. Among its key topics, the book explores why the end of electricity demand growth is in sight in developed economies, and why the same pattern is inevitable for developing economies as they evolve. The book also examines practical insights, perspectives, and case studies of zero net energy communities. Dr. Faruqui authored the book’s foreword, “Is zero energy growth in our future?” He also contributed to Chapter One, “Will energy efficiency make a difference?” along with Mr. Sioshansi and Gregory Wikler of Ener-NOC.
