The Brattle Group is pleased to announce that Paroma Sanyal, the former Chief Economist of the Wireless Bureau at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has joined the firm's litigation practice as a Senior Consultant in the Washington, DC office.

The Brattle Group is pleased to announce that Paroma Sanyal, the former Chief Economist of the Wireless Bureau at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has joined the firm's litigation practice as a Senior Consultant in the Washington, DC office.

Dr. Sanyal is an expert in telecommunications, regulatory, and competition issues focusing on the wireless industry, and spectrum-related matters. She also has considerable experience in econometric modelling, applied microeconomics, and general economic policy. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, as well as a Master's in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics in India. 

Prior to joining the FCC, Dr. Sanyal was an assistant professor at Brandeis University's International Business School in the economics department, where she taught and advised undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. students. Her research has spanned policy issues in the telecommunications sector, the energy sector, and intellectual property and corporate finance-related issues.
