Case Study Developed by Brattle Principals Wins 2015 CCBJ Business Achievement Award for Wind and Solar Integration

Brattle Principals Jürgen Weiss and Bruce Tsuchida have been awarded the Climate Change Business Journal’s (CCBJ) 2015 Business Achievement Award for Wind and Solar Integration for the case study they prepared for the Advanced Energy Economy Institute.

The study, Integrating Renewable Energy into the Electricity Grid, explores how Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and Xcel Energy Colorado are integrating variable renewable energy (primarily wind power) into their regional grids.

The authors find that the integration of high levels of variable renewable energy into the electric grid is both technically feasible and can be managed without compromising reliability of electric power service.
