Leading Finance Expert Alex Edmans Affiliates With The Brattle Group

The Brattle Group has announced that Alex Edmans has joined the firm’s network of internationally renowned experts as an Academic Advisor.

Dr. Edmans is a Professor of Finance at London Business School. He is an expert in corporate finance (corporate governance, executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions, investment/growth/innovation), corporate social responsibility, behavioural finance, and practical investment strategies.

Dr. Edmans’ research has been published by the American Economic Review, the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Review of Financial Studies. He has presented to Accenture, the Bank of England, Deutsche Bank, the Federal Reserve, Goldman Sachs, IMF, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, Rockefeller, the SEC, and UBS. Dr. Edmans is a Wall Street Journal “Expert” and runs a blog, “Access to Finance,” that aims to make complex finance topics accessible to a general audience.

Dr. Edmans has recently advised the Dutch Prime Minister on corporate governance and the No. 10 policy unit (UK) on behavioural economics. He is involved in several policy initiatives with the Bank of England. He co-invented a solution to the U.S. housing crisis that was named one of the 50 best inventions in 2010 by Time magazine. Dr. Edmans also co-invented the idea of paying managers with debt to dissuade excessive risk-taking, which has been implemented by several banks and advocated by policymakers worldwide. He gave a TEDx talk on “The Social Responsibility of Business” in April 2015.

Dr. Edmans has been named a Rising Star in Finance and a Rising Star in Corporate Governance, and was awarded the Moskowitz Prize for Socially Responsible Investing and the FIR-PRI prize for Finance and Sustainability.
