Mr. Ott, former President and CEO of PJM Interconnection, is a world-renowned expert in electricity market design and operations.

Mr. Ott has more than 35 years of experience in power system engineering and operations, transmission planning, applied mathematics, and electricity market design and implementation. For nearly 25 years, Mr. Ott served in executive roles at PJM Interconnection, the largest power grid operator in North America and the largest electricity market in the world.

During his five years as PJM’s President and CEO, Mr. Ott was responsible for the executive oversight of all aspects of company operations and for setting the strategic direction and vision for the company. As the Executive Vice President of Markets, he was responsible for designing and implementing PJM’s wholesale electricity markets and power system operations applications. Before joining PJM, Mr. Ott held several roles, including as a transmission planning engineer, at GPU Service Corporation.

He has received numerous awards from the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his accomplishments and technical papers.
