Mr. Browne joined The Brattle Group as an Associate in 2018, after completing his PhD in Economics at The University of Chicago. He works on environmental and energy issues, particularly relating to water and electricity markets.

In his PhD dissertation, Mr. Browne studied the impact that adjudicating water rights has on patterns of agricultural water use in Idaho, as well as the effectiveness of residential water conservation policies during the 2011-2017 California drought. Oliver has also published research using agent-based simulations to evaluate the impact of competition policy and renewable integration in the New Zealand Electricity Market. During his time at The University of Chicago, he was also a lecturer teaching computational methods in economics.

Mr. Browne grew up in beautiful New Zealand and his undergraduate degrees are in engineering and economics from the University of Auckland.
