Dr. Robles is experienced in performing complex economic analyses and calculating damages.

In his casework, Dr. Robles develops and analyzes statistical and econometric models to calculate damages in antitrust, product liability, false advertisement, and market manipulation cases. He also has experience designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys to assess liability, damages, and market definition. Dr. Robles has analyzed a broad set of industries in his work, including motor vehicles, consumer product goods, commodities, mortgages, pension funds, and technology.

Dr. Robles’s work was recognized by the American Antitrust Institute in its 2022 Antitrust Enforcement Awards in the “Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Economics” category. He has provided expert testimony in a consumer class action case involving a utility service interruption. He has also submitted an expert report in a tariff classification case with the United States Court of International Trade.

While working on his PhD, Dr. Robles focused his research on analyzing the competitive effects of trade policy using structural econometric methods. As a graduate student, he taught an undergraduate course in advanced macroeconomics.

Previously, Dr. Robles worked as a Research Assistant to the chief economist at the Mexican Ministry of Finance. At the Ministry, he conducted research on numerous topics, including banking, education, financial markets, fiscal sustainability, and poverty.
