Brattle Principals Bruce Tsuchida and Johannes Pfeifenberger will discuss federal activity involving transmission and the economic principles involved in large infrastructure projects at the Midwestern Governors Association (MGA) and Organization of MISO States (OMS) New Transmission – Cost Causation & Beneficiary Analysis Conference, which will take place November 5–6 in St. Louis.

Mr. Tsuchida will join the panel “Federal and International Examples” on November 5. This panel will review the relevant federal activity and major Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) orders that have led to our current understanding of costs causation of new transmission and the associated beneficiary analysis.

Mr. Pfeifenberger will join the panel “Views from Experts – From Theoretical to Practical” on November 6. This panel will discuss the economic principles that commonly underpin large infrastructure project analysis and cutting-edge methods and techniques used to assess the benefits of new transmission in the face of uncertainty.
