Brattle Principal Ira Shavel will present at the Mowat Center’s Emerging Energy Trends Conference, taking place May 29, 2017 in Toronto, Canada.
The event will provide fresh and innovative thinking about how Ontario’s energy sector can respond to recent and future technological developments. In addition, the event will discuss how consumers, providers, and regulators can address opportunities and challenges presented by these emerging technologies, from generation and storage to conservation and local distribution.
Dr. Shavel will present during the session “Ratemaking and Distributed Energy Resources.” The panel will discuss how distributed energy resources (DER) should be valued, what considerations need to be included, and how granular the rates should be. The panel will also examine how to ensure that full costs and benefits of any DER installations are taken into account.
