Brattle Principal Kathleen Spees will present at the Association of Power Producers of Ontario’s (APPrO) 29th Annual Canadian Power Conference and Networking Centre, taking place November 20-21, 2017 in Toronto.
The event will address historic shifts in the power industry. Topic of discussion include: the impact of technology change and new market entrants; new markets for attributes and offsets in Ontario; gas market changes that impact power generation; options for improving the marketing and achieving more meaningful price signals; and much more.
Dr. Spees will present during the panel discussion “Can Ontario Be Productive about the Changes Ahead?” Panelists will discuss the options for reconciling policy objective with the requirements for functional markets, and address the growing tension between how wholesale market design and public policy choices do not quite square with the markets.
