Brattle Principal Ryan Hledik will present at Smart Energy Demand Coalition’s (SEDC) Smart Energy Summit, taking place April 6, 2017 in Brussels.

The event aims to define current and future contributions from the various energy end-use sectors from industry to residential consumers.

Dr. Hledik will chair the session, “Best practice cases from around the world,” and will discuss the findings of a Brattle report he co-authored, “The Hidden Battery: Opportunities in Electric Water Heating.” The report found that advanced strategies of using electric water heating to provide ancillary services, store thermal energy on a daily basis, or adopt heat pumps can provide significant value to the electric power grid.
