Brattle Economists Michael Cragg and Lisa Cameron to Present at American Bar Association’s Annual Meeting

Brattle principal Michael Cragg and senior consultant Lisa Cameron will be presenting at the American Bar Association’s Annual Meeting, taking place August 4-9, 2011 in Toronto, Canada. Drs. Cragg and Cameron will moderate the roundtable discussion, “The Demise of Junk Science in the Calculation of Reasonable Royalties,” which will explore recent court decisions in intellectual property litigation and their impact on the types of evidence that can be presented to determine reasonable royalty. The discussion will explain how analytical shortcuts once used in court, such as the “25% rule,” are no longer deemed acceptable. The roundtable will also detail the economic principles used to determine a reasonable royalty, as well as the various types of evidence once used in past cases to calculate reasonable royalties. They will be joined by Paul Bondor, a partner at Desmarais LLP. For more information, please visit the conference website.
