Brattle Senior Associate Michael Hagerty moderated a panel on utility perspectives at the Global Transmission Report Conference on EV Charging Infrastructure, which was held October 29–30 in New York City.

Mr. Hagerty’s panel, “Utility Perspective,” discussed the impact of EVs on grid planning, operations, and reliability; and whether current networks can cope with the future energy demand for EV charging stations.

The two-day conference brought together leading utilities, grid operators, regulators, investors, and consultants to discuss the role of electric vehicles (EVs) in the future of the US mobility market. It also addressed how to begin to understand the regulatory requirements and standards for building EV charging stations in key US states.
