Richard Goldberg to Present at Knowledge Congress Webcast on Big Data in Litigation

Brattle principal Richard Goldberg will participate in the upcoming live webcast, “Big Data in Litigation: What it is and How it’s Used by Economic Experts and Lawyers in Complex Litigation,” taking place May 18, 2015 from 12:00PM – 2:00PM EST.

“Big data” is already influencing the kinds of arguments made in class actions and other lawsuits that typically invoke statistical sampling. To the extent that big data, by making it possible to review the entire data set and not just a sample, trumps probability-based calculations, will statistical sampling still be allowed? The answer likely depends on the specific factual and legal issues in dispute. This presentation will provide an overview of what big data is, discuss its implications, and provide case studies of big data in complex economic litigation.

Hosted by The Knowledge Group/The Knowledge Congress Live, the live webcast will bring together attorneys and other interested professionals to understand the significant issues surrounding big data.
