Ryan Hledik to Present Findings from Electric Water Heating Report at PLMA’s Demand Response Dialogue

Brattle Principal Ryan Hledik will participate in the Peak Load Management Alliance’s (PLMA) Demand Response Dialogue on “NRECA-NRDC-PLMA Hidden Battery Report,” taking place on March 24, 2016 from 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm EST.

Mr. Hledik, along with Keith Denis of the National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association (NRECA), will discuss the findings from Brattle’s recent report that examines the economic grid benefits of controlling three different types of water heaters (80-gallon electric resistance, 50-gallon electric resistance, and heat pump water heaters) for peak shaving, thermal storage, and real-time fast response to supply fluctuations.

Additionally, they will provide insight on innovative demand response methods to meet peak energy load needs, mitigate price, and manage variable generation.
