Brattle Principal Sanem Sergici will speak and moderate a panel at the Electric Utility Consultants, Inc. (EUCI) Residential Demand Charges/Time of Use (TOU) Summit, to be held May 29-30 in New Orleans, LA.

The summit will bring together utility thought leaders, industry experts, and solution providers who will dive deep into the issues and resolutions around innovate rate design, including TOU and residential demand charges.

Dr. Sergici will speak on “Recent Developments in Rate Reform in an Evolving Energy Marketplace.” She will discuss the different rate design options utilities are implementing to address the challenges and opportunities of the new grid, as well as the criteria to guide their tariff design choices and alternative rate implementation. Dr. Sergici will also moderate the panel discussion on “Residential Demand Charges vs. Time of Use (TOU) Rates.” The panel will weigh in on the effectiveness of time-varying energy rates and residential demand charges in meeting public policy goals and discuss the pros and cons of using time-varying rates and demand charges.
