Brattle Team Contributes to Case Win Featured as the American Antitrust Institute Litigation Achievement of the Year

In the multidistrict litigation case, In Re: Municipal Derivatives Antitrust Litigation, Brattle was retained by the Plaintiffs’ counsel, including attorneys from Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, Hausfeld LLP, and Susman Godfrey LLP, to conduct relevant economic and empirical analyses.

Plaintiffs in the case, a group consisting of cities, counties, and states, raised allegations of price fixing in the municipal derivatives industry among more than 30 major financial institutions. With the assistance of the Brattle team, led by Darrell Chodorow, George Oldfield, and Dan Gaynor, the Plaintiffs were able to reach settlements with the defendants totaling nearly $225 million.

The Plaintiffs’ legal team has been awarded the American Antitrust Institute (AAI) 2016 Award for Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice for their work in this matter.
