Brattle Welcomes Former ACM Chief Economist Jarig van Sinderen as an Academic Advisor

We are pleased to announce our recent affiliation with Dr. Jarig van Sinderen, Professor of Economic Policy at the Erasmus School of Economic and former Chief Economist of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

Dr. van Sinderen has over 35 years of experience in competition-related agencies in the Netherlands. While at the ACM, his work included economic analyses of the harm inflicted by cartels and the impact of the ACM’s interventions in specific competition matters.

“We look forward to collaborating with Jarig on a variety of complex and important litigation and consulting engagements,” said Principal Konstantin Ebinger, head of Brattle’s Brussels office. “His general expertise in competition matters, and specifically the impact of competition and regulatory policies, will make him a valuable asset to our work in the Netherlands as well as the EU.”

In addition to his government and academic work, Dr. van Sinderen has consulted on matters for the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Security and Justice. These matters include assessments of the effectiveness of economic instruments for stimulating innovation and entreprenership, as well as several projects to introduce competition into the Dutch marketplace.
