The Brattle Group Welcomes Academic Advisor Antonio Nicita

The Brattle Group is pleased to welcome competition economist Dr. Antonio Nicita as a new Academic Advisor. Dr. Nicita is a Professor of Economic Policy at LUMSA University in Italy, as well as a Visiting Scholar of the Center for Research in Regulated Industries at Rutgers. He recently served for seven years (2014–2020) as Commissioner of the Italian Telecoms, Media, and Postal Regulatory Authority (AGCOM).

A multidisciplinary scholar, Dr. Nicita focuses on economics, law, and public policy – especially as they apply to digital, media, data, and platforms technology. He is well known for his expertise in damages quantification, as a telecommunications expert in Italy (specifically) and Europe (more broadly), data analysis, market platforms, and competition policy.

Dr. Nicita’s experience also includes serving as a regulation and antitrust advisor for national and international public institutions and private companies. This experience includes being a Senior Partner at Studio Economico Consulting for ten years and supporting numerous litigation and arbitration proceedings throughout his career. The European Commission has appointed him as an independent Monitoring Trustee in antitrust cases. In addition to his prominent AGCOM role, Dr. Nicita has held several OECD advisory positions, including most recently as a member of the OECD Steering Group on Regulation & Emerging Technology. His research on law and economics, competition policy, market structure, and incentives has been published in several books and international publications.
