Principal Dr. Dean Murphy was quoted in a recent RTO Insider article that explores the potential for a “nuclear renaissance” as some utilities are again considering this resource in their long-term plans.

Many industry experts are focused on small modular reactors (SMRs) for this next wave of nuclear development. Among his remarks about potential broader industry trends, Dr. Murphy noted, “The promise for SMRs is that they’re small enough that we’ll be able to build them in a factory and deliver them on a barge or a rail car and install them. And maybe that’s true, and maybe that’s the pathway to get the cost down by a lot.”
