Recent Electricity Price Trends Study Featured in Several Media Outlets, Including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times
A Berkeley Lab study that Brattle contributed to was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. The study assesses the drivers behind recent trends in retail electricity prices across the United States and the report documents historical pricing changes at the national and state levels, identifies the key drivers of those changes, and uses several state-specific case studies to further illustrate the findings.
The original report, “Recent Retail Electricity Price Trends: What Do We Know…or Think We Know?” was published in October 2025, and an updated report, “Retail Electricity Price Trends and Drivers: Data Update – 2026 Edition,” was published in April 2026.
