Practice Co-Leader: Private Equity, Venture Capital & Hedge Funds
Mr. Rudolph specializes in complex securities litigation matters, including class actions and disputes involving venture capital and private equity.
With over two decades of consulting experience, Mr. Rudolph has provided economic and statistical analyses and advised clients across all phases of commercial litigation, from class certification to mediation and trial. In securities cases and M&A/appraisal actions, he has analyzed damages, price impact, volatility, market efficiency, asset and business valuation, and trading behavior in both foreign and domestic markets. He has led project teams in complex, “bet-the-company” litigations – including those with multi-billion-dollar damages exposures – and supported expert witnesses in preparation for deposition and trial.
Mr. Rudolph’s private equity and venture capital expertise includes evaluating portfolio performance, strategy, and investment suitability; analyzing private investments in public equity (PIPES); and conducting valuations of management companies and funds. He is also an expert in real estate cases, including those related to residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), and has additional experience in regulatory and private actions alleging market manipulation and insider trading; and bankruptcy and solvency matters. His work has spanned industries including financial institutions, technology, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods.
Prior to joining Brattle, Mr. Rudolph was a Principal at a global economics consultancy, where he was also co-head of the firm’s private equity and venture capital practice. He previously was a Trading Associate at Barclays Capital.
