Mr. Thomas is the Henry E. McWane Professor of Business Administration at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

An expert in supply chain management and strategy, he is a cofounder and chief scientist for Plan2Execute, which provides supply chain software and consulting solutions for warehouse and transportation management. He has testified as an expert witness and consulted on software intellectual property matters and supply contract disputes for several large organizations.

Before joining the University of Virginia, Mr. Thomas was a professor of supply chain management and faculty director of the MBA program at Penn State’s Smeal College of Business. His research interests include supply chain strategy, inventory planning and effective management of supply partners.

Mr. Thomas has published numerous articles in a wide range of academic and practitioner oriented publications including Management Science and Manufacturing and Service Operations Management. He is a coauthor of Inventory and Production Management in Supply Chains.
