Jan Albert Van Mieghem

Dr. Van Mieghem is the AC Buehler Professor and Professor of Operations at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

An expert in operations management and strategy, his research and teaching focus on the strategy and execution of product, service, and supply chain operations. Dr. Mieghem is a member of Belgium’s Royal Flemish Academic of Sciences and Arts and a Distinguished Fellow of the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society.

The author of dozens of articles that have appeared in leading academic journals, Dr. Van Mieghem serves on the editorial boards of Management Science and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and is a former area editor of Operations Research. He is also the author of two operations textbooks.

At Kellogg, Dr. Van Mieghem serves as the Director of the PhD program in operations and two non-degree executive programs. He is a former Academic Director of the school’s Executive MBA program and former senior associate dean.
