VALCON 2026
Host: American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA)
Date: Monday, May 4 –Tuesday, May 5
Location: New Orleans, LA
Principal Steve Herscovici will join the “Music Rights, Royalties, and Catalogs: Market Dynamics and Deal Activity” panel on Monday, May 4, from 4:15–5:15 p.m. (CT). The panel will explore the history of monetization of creative libraries, recent transactions, the impact of AI, streaming, and other factors on copyright and valuation methodology. Panelists will also provide an introduction to music licensing, a history of selling copyrights, and a general discussion of how catalog sales are valued.
Principal Edmond Esses will moderate the panel, “Valuation in LME,” on Tuesday, May 5, from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. (CT). As liability management exercises (LMEs) become a central feature of the restructuring landscape, the panel will examine how valuation is constructed in out-of-court LMEs and provide a framework for evaluating whether an LME enhances enterprise value or simply redistributes it.
