Global Arbitration Review (GAR) has once again named The Brattle Group among the top 10 firms for international arbitration experts in its “GAR 100: Expert Witness Power Index.” Brattle had the highest average value of claims of all ranked firms in 2022 – which, at $1.38 billion, is more than double any of the firm’s peers in the top 10.

Brattle worked on 27 unique hearings and 53 disaggregated hearings (where multiple Brattle experts participated in the same hearing) in the two-year period evaluated for the index rankings. Notably, of all firms included on the index, Brattle ranked second for the most investor-state cases (31) and first for the total number of energy hearings (42).

“We’re honored to be once again named among the world’s foremost international arbitration experts,” said Richard Caldwell, Brattle Principal and Leader of the Internal Arbitration practice. “As our practice continues to grow, particularly within the commercial arbitration sector, we remain committed to providing valuable economic insights to our clients around the world.”

The Expert Power Index’s rankings are based primarily on the volume, size, and value of their arbitral hearings over a two-year period, with the 2022 rankings based on data – provided by expert witness firms – from August 1, 2019, to August 1, 2021. Reputational clout, including number of Who’s Who Legal rankings, is also considered.
