Ryan Hledik Quoted in Recent Utility Dive Article on NextEra’s Real Zero Carbon Emissions Goal
The “Real Zero” plan from NextEra Energy (NEE), the US’s largest electric utility holding company, would eliminate carbon emissions from NEE operations by 2045 without relying on carbon offsets. In a recent Utility Drive article about NEE’s plan, Principal Ryan Hledik was quoted, noting that ambitious decarbonization plans like Real Zero will need “all available options” to eliminate carbon emissions, including “innovative demand-side initiatives.” Expanded energy efficiency and load flexibility investments are cost-effective and key to affordable decarbonization for consumers.
