A Brattle-authored chapter has been included in the sixth edition of The Guide to Energy Arbitrations, which was recently published by Global Arbitration Review (GAR).

Brattle Principal Jack Stirzaker and Senior Associate Bennet Berger coauthored “Quantum: Valuing Pre-Operational Assets,” a chapter discussing valuation framework methodology for how to account for the risks associated with pre-operational projects in the energy industry. Arbitration claims can involve assets before they become operational, and such assets can pose challenges in valuation since they carry additional risks – specifically, the risks that an asset may not become operational and that there are extra costs to reach the operational stage.
