Heating Sector Transformation in Rhode Island

Dr. Murphy and a Brattle team examining the full decarbonization of the state’s heating sector by 2050.  Three broad categories for decarbonization were examined: Improving building energy efficiency to reduce energy demand, replacing existing fossil heating fuels with carbon-neutral renewable gas, and electrification of fossil fuel–powered heating systems.
